BWH Hotels merges Best Western Rewards into WorldHotels Rewards from January 2027
BWH Hotels announced on 27 October 2026 that it will bring more than 4,000 hotels and 18 brands under the WorldHotels masterbrand. Best Western Rewards and WorldHotels Rewards will merge into one programme, WorldHotels Rewards, launching on 5 January 2027.
According to BWH Hotels' announcement, issued from Phoenix, Arizona, the combined programme will serve approximately 70 million existing members. It will have three membership tiers. Existing benefits stay in place, including status matching, member rates and points that never expire.
BWH Hotels said members will keep the value of their existing points and will have more ways to earn points across a wider portfolio. The company said further details of the programme will be announced on 16 November 2026. The sources do not set out the tier names or the earn and burn rules.
The portfolio spans more than 100 countries. Trade coverage by TTG Asia says it comprises three hotel companies: WorldHotels, Best Western Hotels & Resorts and SureStay Hotels. Individual hotels will keep their names, signage and brand identities. Best Western-named brands remain in the rewards brand roster, according to Hotel Times.
The change also covers digital channels. TTG Asia reported a new website and redesigned mobile app for booking, loyalty account management and hotel discovery. It said the discovery platform draws on more than 10,000 hours of insights from hotel teams. Larry Cuculic, President and Chief Executive Officer of WorldHotels, said in the release that the name gives the company "a clearer way to tell our story" while "preserving the independence and individuality" of its hotels.
The supplied sources did not include the Hotelier Middle East article itself. Nothing in them gives member numbers or plans for the Middle East specifically.

MELA's take: Why it matters for programme teams
This is a consolidation of two programmes into one, with a promise that nothing members already hold will be lost. The open questions are the three tier structures and the earn rules, which are due on 16 November. Programme teams in the Gulf that work with hotel partners or compare hotel schemes should watch those details, because a larger unified base changes how the programme sits against other hotel and travel offers.
